On the Cover: Jen Mecca’s salt and pepper shakers, wheel-thrown and handbuilt porcelain, fired to cone 8, 2012.

Lawler-Mecca maintains a home studio in York, S.C., as working potter. Her work was included recently in Ceramics Monthly and Clay Times. She earned her M.F.A. at East Carolina University, and during that time she studied abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia, Estonia, and Finland through an exchange program sponsored by East Carolina University. Lawler-Mecca has taught college-level ceramics classes as well as children’s clay classes, and she has exhibited her work at the North Carolina Pottery Center, the Rocky Mount Museum of Art, Greenville Museum of Art, Genaseo State University, and the Odyssey Center for Ceramic Art.
