B.F.A. grad Sarah Stokes was accepted into the Ash Street Project’s Emerging Artists Mentorship Program in Portland, Oregon. It is a one year studio-intensive run by Thomas Orr, a retired professor from the Oregon College of Art and Craft, and his wife Joanna Bloom. They accept five artists each year and the program seeks to create a community where each person can focus on fulfilling a specific goal, whether it be building a portfolio for graduate studies or preparing for life as a studio artist. The program starts in September and also provides opportunities for participants to work with other artists in the community, have access to an exhibition space, lectures and critiques.
